hi, i'm oshan.
For twenty years I've been pouring tea for other people — at weddings, festivals and conferences, in community gatherings around the Bay Area, and in teahouses out on the playa.
Somewhere in the same twenty years I've been shaped by sound, so there's music too, and a performance troupe. And because it's hard to gather people well in a world this noisy, I spend the rest of my time on how we hold onto trust, truth and a little shared silence.
Tea is the thread through most of it — an old and disarmingly simple way to slow down and actually be present with each other. This is the short version of everything I'm part of.
Tea & gathering
Twenty years of pouring tea for other people — at weddings, festivals and conferences, in Bay Area community events, and in teahouses out on the playa.
Peace & presence
Making stillness something you can do in public, with strangers, on purpose.
Sound & performance
Thirty years shaped by sound — music of my own, and a troupe that turns tea into performance.
Sensemaking
Practical skills and gatherings for thinking clearly, and for keeping trust and truth intact in a fractured information world.
